Incentives & Tax Benefits

This interactive map highlights the various incentive areas, such as Opportunity Zones, Infill Districts and New Market Tax Credits, along with the option to overlay the areas that qualify for multiple incentives.

Infill Incentive District

Eligible projects within commercial and residential incentives areas may receive a 50% reduction in building permit, plan review and development impact fees.

Additional Depreciation

The Arizona Competitiveness Package (HB 2001, 2011) encouraged new capital investment in Arizona by enhancing Arizona’s additional depreciation allowance for property tax.

Angel Investment Tax Credit Program

As of July 1, 2021 the Angel Tax Credit program (A.R.S. § 41-1518) has been extended and the ACA will be able to authorize $2.5 Million in tax credits each fiscal year until 2031.

Qualified Facility Tax Credit

The Qualified Facility tax credit was established to promote the location and expansion of manufacturing facilities, including manufacturing-related research & development of headquarters facilities.

Quality Jobs Tax Credit

The Quality Jobs tax credit encourages business investment and the creation of high-quality employment opportunities in the state.

Arizona Step Grant

AZSTEP assists Arizona small businesses to enter export markets for the first time or to expand into new markets.

New Markets Tax Credit

The New Markets tax credit provides an incentive for investment in low-income communities. Investors receive a tax credit against their federal income tax through a competitive tax credit allocation.

Opportunity Zones

Opportunity Zones are designed to spur economic development by providing tax benefits to investors.
